Hi, folks. I need a favor. Could you help me pick the right title for my next novel?
I’ve labored on this book for over a decade. My working title during that time was Dead Cemetery. But I wasn’t sure if that really reflected the content. So I came up with The Covenant Sacrifice. I’m not sure which would grab readers more. Hence, I’m seeking your opinion.
Here’s the back cover blurb for the book, which I’m billing as horror/gay romance/coming out. Please read, and complete the short opinion form at the end. Thanks a bunch for your help!
When the dead return to abduct the living, the living turn into monsters…
Jarod Huntingdon wants more than anything to start a family with children of his own, yet he’s unable to commit to his girlfriend and isn’t sure why. He returns home to the remote rural community of Annastasis Creek for a season of soul-searching where he encounters his childhood friend, Scotty McPherson. Despite their high school fallout, Jarod is still attracted to him.
When Scotty’s six-year-old niece, Madison, goes missing, a frantic search ensues. A violent rainstorm traps them in the valley, blocks roads, severs communication, and hampers the hunt.
In the meantime, Jarod learns of a curse as old as he is, first placed on the community after five young people perished in a house fire during the sacrifice of a deformed child. To appease the curse, defrocked Pentecostal pastor Uriah Zalmon must find a sinner to sacrifice…
Can Jarod and Scotty break the curse, escape the homophobic Covenant Trustees, and vanquish the great winged beast?
