What’s Lee Up To?

After completing my Master of Arts in Writing Popular Fiction in June 2006, coupled with starting a new job, undergoing some significant life changes (getting divorced, coming out), selling a house, and relocating—whew!—I was a bit shell-shocked and laid off writing for a while.

In January 2008 I attended Borderlands Writers Boot Camp in Baltimore, and it really jump-started my writing. I highly recommend it.

My article about self-editing, “Your Very First Editor” was published in Many Genres, One Craft: Lessons in Writing Popular Fiction, which “brings together award-winning authors, bestselling novelists, and hot new writers from all these genres to offer an amazing novel writing workshop in a book.” I’m available to edit dark fiction.

In June 2011 I spoke at Seton Hill University’s Writing Popular Fiction In Your Write Mind alumni retreat on the topic, “Alternative Methods of Idea and Story Generation.” I presented “Psychic Development for Writers” at the 2012 retreat, and I presented “Self-editing for Publication” in June 2013. I spoke at the 2019 retreat on “Mastering Narrative Modes.”

You can learn more about me at Bio and Bibliography. All my books and stories are at Dark Fiction by Lee Allen Howard.

My latest project is a dark psychological thriller called THE BEDWETTER. It’s due out May 1, 2019, and I’m finishing up work on novel #6, DEAD CEMETERY, a gay romance/horror story.

Hi Lee, I was just working on organizing my published short stories and I wondered what you were up to these days. So I came by. Good to see you’re still active! Dave (RainesDave@msn.com … I was in Thou Shalt Not)

Hi, Dave. I’m glad you’ve got more stories published. Last May, my horror/psych thriller THE BEDWETTER came out. Thanks for the greeting.
